2010 AND ALL THAT JAZZ!

с новым годом...
That's Happy New Year in Russian, because I'm so cold r
ight now, I feel like I am in Russia.
I had vowed that I was going to be super organised and update my blog more, yet It's already the 12th and I seem to have been whisked away in a magical vortex of work and excitement....
So I have to say that 2009 came with an abundance of highlights..... It mark
ed both my third catwalk show at London Fashion Week, as well as my debut at Vienna Fashion Week...and two brand new collections under my belt!
On top of that I got to work on some awesome projects this year and also got to take my brand to a more international focus as travelling is the only other thing that comes close to my work as far as my LOVE LIST goes!
Jetting stateside to work in New York as creative coordinator of the NYC AGAINST HIV event as well as presenting my collection on the catwalk over there was a particular fun point....however the falling over and scarring my knee for life, was not so great! Battle wounds........

The beginning of the year saw my special event with Jodie Harsh, 'The Emma Bell Circus comes to Town' thrown at Circus with the amazing Ladyhawke as guest DJ and cupcakes galore up for grabs by the scrumptious, 'Outsider Tart'.

Other juicy highlights include having Big Brother Twins, Samanda rock my AW09 show and styling Little Boots for Notion Magazine!wooeeee! 2009 also saw Ebony Bones rocking my robes as well as Raquel Reed, Beth Jeans Houghton, Jodie Harsh, Annie and Olivia Merilahti of 'The Do'!!

And of course, in keeping with the International twist, 2009 saw me branching out and going all continental (like a breakfast...) and moving to Vienna for a juicy chunk of the year! I am super grateful to have been taken under the wing of the wonderful Quartier21 programme who offered me a position as Artist in Residence in a beautiful studio in a beautiful city!!! Vienna was AMAZING and allowed me to work with a huge selection of talented creatives from all over the World, present my first European showcase and of course work in a totally new environment which was super inspiring!!!

All and all a very happy, busy and exciting year...and I'm tropically excited for the realms of 2010! There's some juicy treats and projects lurking up my bejewelled sleeves...so keep those peepers peeled for upcoming gossip and shizzle!
Best foot forward and all that for the year ahead....So far I was super chuffed to get a mention in the 'Evening Standard's' trend predictions for 2010, a nice bit of coverage on SS10 in 'The Journal' and to have my garments featured in an awesome shoot styled by Alexis Knox in the latest issue of Notion Magazine!!!

Enough of my rambling....and reminiscing and whatever else!
Magical unicorn wishes and kisses for 2010 folks!
Love and Gin and Tonic,
Emma

Vienna Fashion Week!

Oooooohhh iyyya!
So....my show is looming...so I'm taking a couple of moments out to spread the word 'innit!
Wednesday is D-Day....so as you can imagine....right now it looks like this....

Wednesday marks both my unleashment of a preview portion of my SS10 collection as well as my debut at Vienna Fashion Week! So whole new ball game all round....after 3 seasons at LFW...and living and working in London for so many years....its an exciting change! And it's weird that I sit sewing looking at big old curly buildings and listening to sick German radio instead of looking down at Catch and listening to someone pissing up against my front door...much as I miss it!
But I can't compare them as they are totally different experiences!
In other news the impending show has meant some serious hours spent burning the midnight oil...and my addiction to energy drinks has returned...I've sampled pretty much ALL the Austrian market has to offer...POWER HORSE, BURN, FULL SPEED....(full speed tastes like SHIT.) and I have to admit none compare to my LOVE OF RELENTLESS....what I would do for a Relentless and THE BOX right now...
So anyway....the show is wednesday at 9pm....a seperate press showcase will be happening at 7pm...so any media to contact the PR...
http://www.mqviennafashionweek.com/
The show at 9pm is going to be held in the tent at MQ Vienna...and is open for everyone! So come along!
Oohh also...today, the 19th...marks the one year anniversary to the day of my first ever solo show at London Fashion Week!spppoooookkkyyy!
Ok...so back to my sewing and Girls Aloud.....
Ciao
Love and Relentless

Some New Press Stuffs!!!

Imyouare...
Yo Yo Yo....
So I would Like to say that some hardcore gossip went down this weekend...but it didn't I was locked away working pretty much all weekend...which isn't very glitter fuelled (well it is kind of glitter fuelled if you walk across my floor barefoot as it all sticks to your feet!) but it's all good!
Two interesting points...I went to Hyde Park and ate some mangoes...and Rael encouraged some weirdo to come and harass us...I was then asked if I was 15?! Also...me and Charlie had a lot of malt products...ie HORLICKS AND SOREEN...and the results were weird...I encountered the worst, most vivid nightmares of my life!!!
So anyway....Just wanted to share some latest bits of press I've whipped in!!!!

The Big Grand Build-up....

Oooh IIIIIIYYYAAA!!!
So...what really went on in the months leading up to the unleashmen
t of the collection!!!
I'm dedicating this one to Emma Box- who was my right hand man/woman in the run up to the show so really got to witness the majority of the ridiculousness....
Obviously there was many a ludicrous event....where to start...where to start....
As you can imagine there was very little sleep going on.....many nights there was none at all....it wasn't pretty...so to battle this we
development an un-natural obsession with energy products....

Yes...the cans built up...and started to take over the room. Then...imagine my delight when I discovered that the shop around the corner stocks Thai Red Bull...now I was kind of excited in hopes of a re-run of my pre-Xmas antics in Bangkok...then again...the thought of being sick 8 times...being caught in the chaos of a street brawl...and throwing some shapes to the sound of Thai reggae with a sick-but-fit boy called Michael from Islington in tow....really wasn't going to cut the mustard in terms of getting the work done!!!
Then one day...after branching out to Somerfield as Tescos sarnies were getting boring....we found.....

YES....instant energy strips...YES PLEASE....although they weren't too amazing....
So we stuck to the Relentless...and lots of it...it's the BEST thing ever. There's a shop downstairs and we like to call the dudes Sunbeam and Gnome..
.Sunbeam is my favourite as he is more up for the cheap laughs....Gnome just isn't buying into it!
They must have been clapping their hands at us trotting down several times a day to clear their shelves of Relentless....we were so excited when one morning we popped in for supplies to see they had got another variety in espe
cially for us...RELENTLESS JUICED....yes please! I definitely saw Sunbeam have a cheap smirk as I squealed with delight upon spotting this treat....only the day before had we hit up Wikipedia to discover this variety...and also learn of the myth that is Relentless Inferno.....

Another addiction accompanied all of the sewing and Relentless drinking....jam donuts from Tescos...YUM...although it wasn't so pleasant when Emma found a bit of plastic in hers (or maybe a magical piece of unicorn's horn...)at 35p a pop, you can't really complain!

This photo depicts one of my most favourite frolics of the creation of AW09.....
So....I got this really "special" mug for Christmas (my brother got the same one...bet he still has his...booo)....seeing as the door would be ringing 24/7...the trips up and down the stairs were getting out of hand....so we developed a special technique which involved the keys being lowered down on a piece of bright pink wool....to the onlooker it must have looked ludicrous.
On one particular day the wool got tangled so it was becoming a bit of a farce to wrestle the keys down to the receiver.....in the tussle MY FAVOURITE MUG took a full G FORCE tumble out of the window nearly taking out half of the road and the pedestrians.....I actually nearly killed Emma Box. It was a full blown spectacle....everyone on the bus was copping a spy...people on the other side of the road stopped to watch...there was an audience that a really shit matinee would be proud of.
In the melee, a load of chunks of ceramic had cascaded into the shop downstairs so poor old Sunbeam must have got a proper fright....he came outside kicking all the pieces back out into the street and started to laugh as he grappled for the still dangling keys....I'm glad it wasn't me trying to get the keys...the shame!
So anyway..you get the gist....for all the hard work...there was equally enough ridiculous moments....
Needless to say there was also a lot of sewing...blanket stitching and listening to Britney going!!!
Love and Flying Mugs (not saucers.)
