Collaboration with Manchul Kim!!!
Hiya!!!
So thought I would unleash a peek into a recent collaboration that I did with the super talented photographer, Manchul Kim, during my time as artist in residence in South Korea. We worked together, alongside a wonderful team, on location in Suwon shortly before I left Korea. It was a really fun collaboration and awesome to join forces with a bunch of great, Korea based creatives as well as work against a really exciting backdrop! I wrote about the shoot on my blog a while back and about our time at the Korean Folk Village, which you can read about HERE!!!
The clothing pieces are from my latest collection of wearable art works that were developed during my most recent project as artist in residence with the 'IAP: Baengnyeong-do Peace Arts Residency' programmed by 'Incheon Art Platform'. The collection of garments are titled 'Tales from Blue Truck Island' and you can read more about those alongside the accompanying exhibition and animation collab HERE!
So here is a look at one of the images from our project together!!!!

Photographer: Manchul Kim. ( www.manchulkim.com )
Make-Up Artist: Dahae Kang.
Photo Assistant: Yangpa.
MUA Assistant: Changhyuk Yim.
Model: MiHee Yun.
Was so great to get to work with Manchul and his crew whilst I was over in magical Korea!!! I will be popping some more images from the shoot shortly so keep an eye out!!!

'Tales from Blue Truck Island'
Oohhh Hiya!!!
Thought I would share the results of my latest collection produced during my residency with Incheon Art Platform, here in South Korea! As I've mentioned (about a million times!), I have been based here for the past 3 months working between Baengnyeong-do, Incheon and Seoul working on my new series of wearable art works and developing a whole load of field research which has included teaching textile workshops, collaborating on an animation and working with creatives based here on various photoshoots!

My new work is titled 'Tales from Blue Truck Island' and is based upon the themes of cultural identity and community interaction with the residents and visual aesthetics of Baengnyeong Island.... You can find the full information and details about the project and it's influences on my website by clicking HERE!!!
I've loved working on this project, it gave me a whole load of new inspiration from places that had I not been working on this artist residency, I probably would never have got to experience, IN MY LIFE! The final results of the 'Tales from Blue Truck Island' include the series of wearable art works, a photography collaboration and an animation.... the animation is coming soon so keep your eyes peeled!!! And tomorrow my exhibition here in Korea opens...so I will be also updating on that!!!
So the images were produced in collaboration with the super talented, Seoul based photographer, Jessica Berggrun and a wonderful team of magical people!
I will leave you with a select few images from the project and you can see the full series of photography and read all about the project HERE!!!!!!

Shooting in Suwon!!!!!!!!!
Helllooo from Sunny Korea!!!!!!!!!
So at the weekend I was working on another collaboration here in S.K with a wonderfully talented team on a photoshoot in the nearby city of Suwon!

It was pretty exciting to get to see another area of the country and I also experienced my first encounter with Korean buses which was fun~ especially when there are coffee and donuts involved!!!! So our location was the 'Korean Folk Village' which was really awesome to see as my work here is very closely linked to Korean heritage and culture so it was great to work with a backdrop that is so specific and of course massively different to what I am used to in the UK!
The village is amazing with a tonne of traditional structures, ceremonial performances, artifacts and sets and the whole place is surrounded by super green forests so it was a really cool location to shoot at!!! Such a fun day working with a wonderful bunch of creative people...so keep an eye out for the upcoming images of our collaboration....

Radio Station Fun Times and Other Joys....
Oohhh Hiya!!!!
Well, to be honest the past few days have mainly involved being hidden away in the studio, covered head to toe in glitter, sewing frantically ready for a photoshoot that I was working on today.... it also involved a lot of fake, sugar free Red Bull, ghost dodging, marathon watching and of course the occassional slice of freshly baked strudel!!!
A few days ago we did an interview with the guys at Radio MARŠ here in Maribor which was so much fun....it was also followed by the most gourmet Tiramisu ice cream! A little dog also came along for the ride and radio action!!!!
The other night I went to my first ever Harp recital ....which I really enjoyed and was hosted at a lovely event at Skrinja Galerija with a dance performance and a viola!!!!
This week I've been working on a weaving project that uses the physical space of the
gallery where I am based, alongside creating
the new pieces that I will be exhibiting here in Maribor as part of my series titled 'The Hives of Lepi Spomini'. More on that some other time!!!
So, today was one of my favourite days since I arrived here in beautiful Slovenia.... a big part of my project here involves collaborating with local creatives and the art scene here in the city... today I was working with an AWESOME team on creating some photography that will be
showcased as part of our 'Call me Human Torch' exhibition that opens next week. I was so excited to work with a bunch of people here in the city and I'm looking forward to unleashing the images that we created!!!
In other exciting news...the posters and flyers arrived hot off the press this morning and they look all shiny and glorioussss!!!!
Ok so I shall leave you with a couple of pictures...

10 Festival Austria and other Delights!

OOOOH iyaaa!
Just a quick one as I am on a roll with the sewing machine and also lunchtime is calling....but, thought I would show you this little sneak peak from a shoot by photographer Michele Pauty
http://www.michelepauty.com/
In preparation for the wonderful 10 Festival which represents fashion and photography my garments were used in a photoshoot! I can't show you the images as they are top secret but here is a little sample at what went down at Michele's new studio! See the lovely Alex above sporting a piece from my SS10 Collection.

image: megamegamega.com
In other news my overseas antics meant that I was not in London for the comeback of 'Circus'....I was sobbing into my pillow!!!
I wish I could have been there...but, I wasn't, I was eating strudel and being all Viennese instead! But my jacket was there in my place worn by the lovely Jodie Harsh....it's like I was mystically there in fabric form...woo spooky!
Ok...that's all folks!

SS10 PREVIEW IMAGES!

Emma Bell SS10-Preview
Stylist: Alexis Knox
Photographer : Wolfgang Steiner
Make Up: Nadja Hluchovsky
Model : Elisabeth Resch
Fashion Assistant: Marshall Johnson
Ok...so the following morning after SHOWTIMEEEE....we trotted off to embark upon a really exciting collaborative project that I have been soooo excited about!
Thursday morning, hot on the aftermath of Vienna Fashion Week....we went to a lovely nearby studio where we worked with an AWESOME team on creating my SS10 preview images! Also..see my bag collaboration with Helen Rochfort getting in on the MIX!
Inspiration behind my collection:
Emma Bell SS10 collection concentrates on a fabricated exploration of kaleidoscopic erruption and nostalgic mixed-media combining the traditional craft techniques of quilting, tie dye and embroidery. A collaboration of textile development from knitted yarns to plastics encapsulating the underlying plethora of muses including British boxing, influences taken from involving myself in Austria, hand-dyeing, Victorian Porn and it’s representation of the female form fuelled by the balance of ‘order meets disorder’ taken from the playright ‘Arcadia.’
It was great to work with a talented local team including photographer, hair and make-up and model....oh and even a VERY SPECIAL little dog..(we know I'm scared of dogs...but I love this one!)
Super happy with the images!! Love them!!!

Boob Dog....
Love and DINNER TIMEEE!!

CLICK CLICK CLICKKKKKKK!
Saluttttt!!!!
Jeez....it is FREEZING....I put the heating on and it's too hot...I turn the heating off and it's proper chills-ville....you just cant win and there is a mystical draft that I can't decipher the origins of...ergh I don't like it!
So, anywayzzz....last night we shot my lookbook in the amazing gallery space at Beach Blanket Babylon!!Super exciting!
It was actually the first time since my show that I have properly seen the collection all together...things have been pretty crazy since Fashion Week, so when the pieces haven't been zipped up nicely in garment bags, they have been out and about at various different shoots or taken out of my hands...so it was nice to get down to creating some amazing images without the mayhem of being backstage at the show!
This particular photoshoot was actually one of the favourite ones I have ever done as it was TOTALLY cheap laughs akimbo....and I LOVED it!
We had a truely awesome team....MASSIVO thanks to Thom Will who unleashed some photo magical unicorn powers....Superstar Puffy stylist Alexis Knox....Michelle Webb for churning out some GOURMET make-up....Charlie Le Mindu AKA Toodle-Pip for creating CORKER hair in true "STREMFROMS" style (yes, it's his favourite word and replaces the word "Strepsil") ....the super HOT models Rachel and Gui who rocked the Emma Bell threads and looked 1 million% AMAZING and of course the sexy Katie and Hayley who helped us!!!

Gui and Rachel...
Yes...I cracked out some pictures as I knew the anticipation would be too much in waiting to clap your eyes on the real shots!!wooo! I'm not impressed that they're kind of fuzzy and I really hope that my camera is not on it's way out as It's covered in pretty pink rhinestones so I love it....

This is one of my all time favourite photos of Charlie and Gui...ever....it makes me laugh soooo much!!! I don't think this picture would look out of place on a channel 4 documentary.....
Yeah...there were some pretty SICK, skanky bagels thrown into the mix...I don't' understand why the vegetarian option always equates to a bit of dirty cheese and brown lettuce....nice....

And of course, as ever....some shapes were thrown...
Yep...so it was hot and I'm soooo incredibly excited to see the finished pictures...so watch this space and all shall be unleashed EL PRONTO!!!
